Frequently Asked Questions

We invite you to peruse the FAQ list below or, btter yet, visit our blog!

As an education-first company, it is our mission to share as much real information as possible.

Please email us at hello@getchil.com if you have a specific question or request.

CBD is an acronym for Cannabidiol (Can-a-bid-i-ol), a prominent naturally-occurring class of molecules called cannabinoids found in the plant genus Cannabis Sativa.

CBD comprises up to 40% of the plant and is one of over 60 plus compounds found in cannabis. Of these compounds, CBD and THC are usually present in the highest concentrations and are therefore the most recognized and studied.

CBD is a non-psychoactive component of the plant that possesses a wide range of benefits and does not cause a high, unlike THC.

Our bodies are made up of an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that uses naturally-occurring cannabinoids to maintain healthy cells. When there is a deficiency in these cannabinoids, it can lead to any number of issues. CBD works to replenish these natural cannabinoids, and therefore return our cells to a balanced state.

Our bodies were built for cannabinoids. We have an entire system designed to receive cannabinoids for the purpose of regulating the body's internal systems. This system is known as our Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

Every single person has an Endocannabinoid System (ECS), whether they’ve consumed cannabis before in their lives or not. The ECS consists of naturally-occurring endocannabinoids and their corresponding receptors (such as CB-1 and CB-2 receptors).

While research into this system is still young, doctors have found these natural cannabinoid compounds and their receptors to exist in virtually every cell and organ system in the human body, and have discovered they play a key regulatory role in whole-body health and homeostasis.

Among other things, the ECS has been shown to help regulate our sleep cycles, immune response systems, and even our emotional response to social stimuli.  When there is a deficiency in this natural ECS network, any one of the above-mentioned systems may be thrown out of balance, which can result in an array of issues and challenges.

Plant-based cannabinoids (such as CBD) are a 100% natural way to assist with these chemical deficiencies (without a THC-induced high), thus restoring the system back to a state of harmony and homeostasis.

On the federal level, CBD is legal. This change, which officially legalized hemp and all hemp-derived products like CBD, occurred in December 2018 with the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill that legalized hemp. But don’t automatically assume you’re in the clear when it comes to CBD. States can still pass their own regulations to ban hemp and CBD.

How CBD was made and how it will be used can also affect CBD's legality. Hemp is the main source of CBD products, which is legal in all 50 states. There are also CBD products made from marijuana, which remains illegal in many states. Depending on whether the marijuana-based CBD is used medically or recreationally, the legality of marijuana-based CBD may also differ in certain states.

CBD oil is normally extracted from Hemp that has high levels of cannabidiol (CBD) and low levels of THC.

At Chil Hemp Goods, our CBD oils always have less than 0.03% THC (the federally legal “cut-off limit” for THC).  These extracts can then be used in paste form, or mixed with other oils such as coconut or hemp seed oil to lower the viscosity of the extract.

The cannabidiol (CBD) content of CBD oil varies since the manufacturers use a varying assortment of plants and preparation techniques. We produce CBD oil with a high concentration of CBD (see corresponding lab reports) and THC levels under 0.03%.

Terpenes are the compounds found in plants that give them their unique scents and flavors. Terpenes are widely known as having many benefits when introduced to our bodies.

After many trials and research, we carefully chose and partnered with an FDA Registered Facility based in Utah. Besides being registered with the Utah Department of Agriculture as approved CBD processor and manufacturer, the facility is inspected according to cGMPs. Our manufacturer is an insured NCIA member specifically for manufacturing hemp and CBD products.

Legal since 2018, CBD is still like the Wild, Wild West in terms of how hemp and hemp-derived products are grown and produced. Before embarking on the CBD journey, it is critical to find a product that is of the highest quality.

All of the products we carry have been third-party tested by an independent lab before they ever reach our shelves. Due to legal reasons, we are unable to publically post the lab results, but are more than happy to privately email the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for a particular product to you. To make a request for a CoA, please email us at hello@getchil.com.

Among the many differences, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the psychoactive ingredient found in cannabis, it produces a "high." Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound in cannabis that has many health benefits—studied and anecdotal. CBD does not get you high.

Hemp Oil is produced by pressing the seeds of the hemp plant. It has a number of nutritional and industrial uses.

CBD Oil is made from the leaves, stalks, and flowers and produced using a CO2 solvent extraction process. CBD is widely touted as a natural health and wellness alternative to manmade pharmaceuticals and drugs.

It can feel like different things to different people. When taken properly, CBD has a gradual and long lasting effect on the Endocannabinoid System and its healing properties. CBD can help people feel calm, happy, peaceful, at ease, more focused, and overall healthier. For some folks, CBD helps them sleep better, feel less pain and inflammation in their bodies, alleviate nausea, and more.

Taking the right dose of CBD for your body is the most important factor when using CBD as part of your daily routine. More about this here.

Nope. There is not enough THC (the psychoactive compound in cannabis) present in properly manufactured CBD to get you high. By federal law, the maximum amount of THC allowed in CBD is 0.03%. However, not all CBD products have even that amount. Our CBD + Terpene Blends are made with Broad Spectrum CBD and contain zero THC. Our Full Spectrum CBD Power Up Drops contain the federally legal amount of THC (at or below 0.03%).

The hemp oil in our Full Spectrum products contain CBD, which is a LEGAL cannabinoid from hemp. It contains minuscule amounts (parts per billion) of THC that COULD show up in a drug screen if you consume CBD oil in high quantities. Our CBD + Terpene Blends are manufactured with Broad Spectrum CBD and contain zero THC.

Chil Hemp Goods cannot guarantee you will or will not pass a drug screening due to the number of variables (such as your age/weight, what kind of drug test it is, how much you exercise, what your diet is, etc). Our Full Spectrum products contain less than 0.3% THC. Our Broad Spectrum products contain zero THC. Always proceed with caution and be upfront about your use of CBD in your daily routine.

Simply put, Full Spectrum CBD contains a trace amount of THC (0.03%), while Broad Spectrum has had the THC removed completely during the manufacturing process. Read more about that here.

Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as delta-8 THC, is a psychoactive substance found in the Cannabis sativa plant, of which marijuana and hemp are two varieties. Delta-8 THC is one of over 100 cannabinoids produced naturally by the cannabis plant but is not found in significant amounts in the cannabis plant. As a result, concentrated amounts of delta-8 THC are typically manufactured from hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD).

Delta-8 THC has psychoactive and intoxicating effects, similar to delta-9 THC (i.e., the component responsible for the “high” people may experience from using cannabis). The FDA is aware of media reports of delta-8 THC products getting consumers “high.”  The FDA is also concerned that delta-8 THC products likely expose consumers to much higher levels of the substance than are naturally occurring in hemp cannabis raw extracts.

Chil Hemp Goods does not offer or sell any Delta-8 products.

Absolutely! Dogs and cats have Endocannabinoid Systems, too! When used properly, CBD can help your beloved pets with the same things that ail us—pain, inflammation, stress, anxiety, and more.
